Description

Stow Bedon Hall is an early 18th century farmhouse with additions from the early 19th century. The house is built of rendered flint with brick detailing, set on a brick plinth, and has pantiled roofs. The original western part of the house comprises three bays over two storeys. A door is positioned to the right of centre, and there are two casement windows to the left, with glazing bars. One first-floor casement has leaded lights dating to the 18th century, while two others are 20th-century replacements. All windows are placed beneath segmental arches. A brick string course runs at first-floor level, and the eaves feature a dentil cornice. The original internal gable stacks are present, with the eastern stack raised in the 19th century to accommodate a later four-bay extension. A 20th-century gabled porch has been added. The ground floor has three sash windows, set under gauged skewback arches and late 19th-century hood moulds, and the upper floor has been largely rebuilt in the 20th century, with four sash windows. The gables are characterised by tumbling and a low parapet. A ridge stack sits on the left side, and there is an internal east gable stack.
