Description
Cuckoo Lodge is a former lodge to Merton Hall, now a private house, built in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of flint with gault brick dressings and has a corrugated tile roof. It is one storey high with a dormer attic and features a brick plinth. The ground floor has two three-light brick cross mullioned casements, each topped with pediments, and a central brick pier. There are two gabled dormers at the eaves, which contain brick casements and bargeboards. The west wall also has two similar pedimented windows on the ground floor. The roof is gabled and includes a central twin-shafted square stack. At the rear, there is a mid-20th century outshut that abuts under the eaves.
