Description
Old Farm House is a farmhouse dating from the mid-17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. It features a timber frame with wattle and daub on a brick plinth and has a thatched roof. The building has a lobby entrance and is two storeys tall. There is a central door beneath a chimney stack, with two casement windows on either side on both floors. The windows, which were installed in the late 1970s, fit into 18th-century openings. A single bay was added to the north in 1979. The roof is gabled with an overhang and a central stack, and the windows at the rear match those at the front. Inside, there are central fireplaces, but the original staircase by the stack has been removed. The timber framing remains intact, and the first-floor corridor, dating from the 18th century, contains a blocked 17th-century timber mullioned window with grooves for sliding shutters. Other remains of 17th-century windows can also be found.
