Description

This is a terrace of ten houses numbered 3 to 17 Melford Common, built in 1834. The houses were originally listed under Melford Bridge Road. They are constructed of cut flint with gault brick dressings and have a pantile roof. The terrace is two storeys high. Each house has two first-floor windows, one of which is a blind window. Numbers 3 and 5 have been combined into a single dwelling, and the original entrance to number 3 has been blocked with flintwork. The doorways are topped with semi-circular arches. The ground-floor windows are sash windows originally with 6/6 glazing bars, most of which have since been replaced; number 13 retains the original windows. The doors are 20th century replacements. The building features a dentil eaves cornice and a gabled roof with six irregularly spaced ridge stacks. A datestone reading "1834" is set into the east gable. The interior has not been inspected.
