Description

Nos 3 and 4 Market Place is an 1815 peninsular block building that stands three storeys tall and is constructed of brick. The south elevation features four windows, the east has four windows, and the north has six windows, all with matching designs. The ground floor includes shops with rusticated pilasters, and the corners are blank with splayed angles. The building has rusticated quoins and architraves around the upper floor windows, a heavy eaves cornice, and a slate roof. Nos 3 to 8 form a group with the former Corn Exchange, and No 3 also forms a group with the adjoining premises to the west on Church Street.
