Description
Nos. 1 and 2 on Elsing Road are a house that has been subdivided into two dwellings, dating from around 1700 and later. The building features a timber frame that is either faced or replaced with brick, topped with pantile roofs. The original west gable end is made of brick and has a chequer pattern, with a pair of oval windows located beside the stack. There is a platband at the base of the rebuilt gable. The remaining sections of the house are from the 19th century, including a gabled two-storey addition to the north that is dated 1832. The fenestration is scattered, featuring two three-light windows with metal casements to the north, several 19th-century chamfered mullion windows, and some modern replacements. The building also has sawtooth cornices, a massive off-centre axial stack, and one gable-end stack.
