Description
Nos 21, 23, and 25 on Fore Street is a large house dating from the early 18th century, currently used as a house and office. The building was altered in the early 19th century and again around 1980. It features timber framed construction with plastered walls and a plain tile roof that has a large wooden cornice with modillions. There are two red brick square chimney stacks on the west end and one on the east end. The building has two storeys and attics, with four windows facing Fore Street and three windows facing Church Street. Nos 23 and 25, which serve as an office, have recently added triple-hung sash windows and imitation Regency doorcases. No 21 retains an 18th-century door frame and a cornice hood supported by shaped wooden brackets, along with a 20th-century bow window on the side and a 19th-century sash window on the first floor.
