Description
The Cornwallis tomb is a chest tomb located 30 metres southwest of the west tower of the Church of St Mary the Virgin in Essendon. It commemorates Mary Cornwallis, who died in 1777. The tomb is made of Portland stone and features fielded panels, with extended balusters on the short ends. The top of the tomb is inscribed with slate.
