Description
Whitedell Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with a casing from the 18th century and extensions and alterations made in the 20th century. It has a timber frame resting on a flint base, with whitewashed brick casing and additional features. The roof is tiled, and the building has a three-bay lobby entry design. It is two storeys high, featuring a two-storey projecting entrance porch with an overhanging first floor and a small casement window with a gabled head. The left bay contains two-light casements, while the right bay has three-light casements, with sham framing applied throughout. There is an axial ridge stack with a rebuilt cap and a lean-to on the left gable end. To the right, there is a lower addition with three-light casements and a further 20th-century bay that is weatherboarded over a lean-to. At the rear, there is an early wing at the centre with exposed purlins and an extruded stack, flanked by lower 20th-century gabled wings that create double gabled return elevations, making the overall plan roughly square. There are also additional lean-to structures at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
