Description
Park Cottage is a house that dates from the late 16th century, with extensions from the 18th and 19th centuries that extend away from the road. The early part of the building features an exposed timber frame with red brick infill. There is a red brick rear wing that forms a T shape. The roofs are covered with plain tiles. The earlier section has a large external stack with two shafts, which is enclosed by a single-storey weatherboarded outbuilding. The elevation facing the drive has wide-spaced studs and two casement windows. On the right side, there is an early 19th-century plank door with a simple wood frame and a cut bracket hood. A small casement dormer is located to the right. The taller rear range includes, in the centre, an 18th-century gabled extension to the earlier part. The garden elevation of this section displays three bays, with the centre bay from the 18th century featuring diapered red brick and a brick dentil cornice. There is a tripartite sash window on the first floor. The outbuildings next to the road are accompanied by short stretches of early 19th-century garden wall on each side.
