Description
The Homestead is a house that was formerly two cottages, dating from the mid-17th century. It features tarred weatherboarding and a 19th-century red brick ground floor. The roof is made of plain tiles and has a central ridge stack. The building is two storeys high and has three 19th-century cast iron casements with two and three lights. On the ground floor, there are doors at each end and two casements between them; the right door is an early 19th-century design in a chamfered wood frame. The left gable end is constructed from 17th-century red brick and has a small external stack. Inside, the layout is a three-bay design with all exposed framing, and the right bay features chamfered joists.
