Description

This is a 16th-century range of two buildings, numbered 63 to 69 on the north side of Sopwell Lane. The buildings are timber-framed and have high-pitched tiled roofs, with the first floor projecting significantly. Each house originally had one window. The windows are 18th-century sash windows with glazing bars, set in near-flush box frames. The entire front facade is cement rendered. Three steps lead to each door; the door of number 63 has six fielded panels. The end wall of number 63 features flint nogging set within brick panels. The doors are paired in the centre of each adjoining block. Numbers 63 to 75 (odd) are designated as a group.
