Description

Nos. 51 to 55, Fishpool Street form a group of three buildings dating to the 17th century.

No. 51 is a two-storey, two-window building with a central door. It has a steep, tiled roof and a high, rendered plinth. The first-floor windows are 2- and 3-light casements with glazing bars in restored, flush frames. The ground floor has similar 4- and 3-light casements, the 3-light window on the right sharing a shallow hood with the recent door. No. 53 is the mirror image of No. 51, but the windows have not been restored; the first floor has a 2-light window on the left and a 3-light window on the right, both Yorkshire sashes in flush frames. The ground floor has 2-light horizontal sliding sashes. All windows have glazing bars. The roof has been renewed with machine tiles.

No. 55 is also 17th century, with an early 19th-century brick front. It is two storeys and two windows, with a steep roof renewed with machine tiles. The brickwork is red with random blue headers. The first floor windows are 2-light casements with glazing bars in flush frames. The ground floor windows consist of a 3-light and a 2-light casement with glazing bars in flush box frames, set under gauged, segmental brick arches. It has a replaced, round-headed door.
