Description
The granary and adjoining open shed at Popefield Farm date from the late 17th century and early 19th century, respectively. The granary features a timber frame with 19th-century brick infill and has a plain tile gable end roof. It stands two storeys tall, with attics, making it an unusually tall example. The front of the granary includes a plank door with a slatted ventilator above it and a small ventilator in the gable. It is supported by red brick stilts. Inside, the granary retains well-preserved fittings, including original floorboards, beams, and joists, with the upper floor featuring original plank partitions. The adjoining shed has a red brick wall at the rear and a slate roof, while the front is open and supported by bracketed posts.
