Description
Nomansland Farmhouse is a Grade II listed farmhouse that dates from the early 18th century, with the front range believed to be from around 1705 and an extension added at the rear around 1800. The front range features vitrified and plain red brick, with some areas arranged in a chequered pattern, while the back range is made of plain brick. The roofs are covered with plain tiles and have parapeted gable ends with internal stacks.
The front of the house has five sash windows from around 1800, each with flat gauged lintels, and a central first-floor window that has a scalloped lintel. The central door has been bricked in, and there is a floor band along the front. Below the windows, there are chequered brick bands and vitrified brick panels. The left elevation also displays chequered brickwork with blocked narrow windows, and there are three gabled casement dormers on the roof.
Inside, the farmhouse retains original fielded panelling and features two fireplaces with rounded brick backs, the main fireplace adorned with a 17th-century painted panel above. At the rear, there are L-shaped outbuildings, primarily from the early 19th century, which include a small stable with plastered walls. The house is said to have originally been built as a hunting lodge.
