Description
Nos 1 and 5 West End are a terrace of cottages dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. They are constructed with a timber frame and have plastered walls, topped with a thatched roof. The buildings are two storeys high. The upper floor features four small 19th-century glazing bar casements, while the ground floor has four sash windows, with the left three paired with contemporary plank doors. The right return gable end jetties on the upper floor and displays exposed 18th-century studwork on the ground floor. There are two ridge stacks that were rebuilt in the 19th century. The left return has a mid-19th-century two-storey extension with a slate roof, which includes a small diamond pane casement on the rear wall.
