Description
The Cottage is a house dating from the 15th to 16th century, with a rear extension added in the late 17th century and the front range heightened in the 18th century. It features a timber frame with plastered walls and a plain tile roof. The building is two storeys tall, with the upper floor containing two 19th-century cast iron casements, while the ground floor has two margin-light sash windows. Inside, the layout consists of three bays, with the right two bays originally designed as an open hall. A chimney stack was added to the right gable end in the 17th century. The rear left extension is two storeys and lower, constructed of roughcast with a slate roof and two three-light glazing bar casements. It also has a central red brick ridge stack, which includes an attached stair. The front roof features a king post.
