Description
The Laurels is a house located on the north side of Stevenage Road in Little Wymondley. It dates from the early 18th century and features a brick casing that may cover an older structure. The east and west ends are roughcast and set back from the brickwork of the front, which is decorated with a chequered pattern of red and blue bricks. The house has a slated roof and is two stories high, with a double-pile plan that includes two windows. It has a central entrance and gable chimneys, positioned well back from the road and facing south. The symmetrical south front features a central recess above a gabled porch that leads to a six-panel door, which includes two glazed panels, two fielded panels, and two flush panels. The house has flush box sash windows with 8/8 panes and flat gauged arches on both floors, along with a painted soffit beneath the projecting eaves.
