Description

These are two houses, originally a single house, dating from the early 16th century. A coin hoard was deposited in 1547 and discovered during renovations in 1973. The front is brick and was altered in the early 19th century, while the timber frame remains visible at the rear, infilled with red brick. The north end is roughcast, while the front is red brick. The roof is steeply pitched, covered in red tiles, with lower, dark weatherboarded and slate-roofed outhouses extending along the roadside to the west. The building has two storeys and faces east onto the roadside. The houses each have two windows on each floor and a central entrance. The windows are two-light casements. Number 3, which adjoins the property to the south, is not of special architectural or historical interest.
