Description
The Croft is a house dating from the early 19th century, located on the south side of Stevenage Road in Little Wymondley. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped slate roof. The building is two stories tall and three windows wide, designed as a double-pile plan villa that is set back from the road and faces north, with a lean-to structure at the west end.
The north front is symmetrical, featuring a central entrance that is chamfered and offset to a plastered plinth, with painted eaves soffit. The ground floor has recessed sash windows with flat gauged arches, 6/6 panes, and flush-bead panelled external shutters. The entrance consists of a six-panel moulded door that is accessed by two steps, situated in a round-headed doorway with a gauged arch and a radial fanlight above. A flat hood extends across at the springing level of the arch. There are two internal gable chimneys located on each end wall.
