Description
Sheep Shearers is a house dating from the mid-18th century, constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof featuring internal gable end stacks. It has a floor band and eaves adorned with angled brick dentils. The building is two storeys high and has three windows. The ground floor includes a modern tiled porch and an 18th-century half-glazed door with moulded, fielded panels and a moulded wood frame. There are late 18th-century bow casements on either side of the door, each with tile hoods, while the first floor has 20th-century casements. Inside, the house retains a complete original staircase with Chinese-style crossed-bar balustrading and a simple oak rail. There are wide plank doors leading to the ground and first floors of the hall. A contemporary lean-to structure, weatherboarded and with plain tiles, is located at the left end, and there is a rear extension added around 1960.
