Description

Mulberry Cottages are a block of four houses built in 1900 by the renowned architect Sir Edwin Lutyens for the second Earl of Lytton. They form an open court and are located on Knebworth Park Lane, near Knebworth. The cottages are constructed of whitewashed brick, with a machine tile roof and six red brick chimney stacks. The design is two storeys high, with 3- and 4-light casement windows featuring glazing bars; gable end windows are set in corners. A central arched passage provides through access. A diamond-shaped date panel is positioned above the entrance. The cottages feature plank doors sheltered by simple, flat hoods.
