Description
Lytton Almshouses are a group of five dwellings built in 1836 by Elizabeth Bulwer Lytton. They are arranged in a single-storey range with a gabled projecting center. The buildings are constructed from yellow gault brick, featuring cement dressings and Portland stone moulded eaves corbels, topped with a slate roof. Designed in a simple Tudor style, each tenement has a door flanked by two- and three-light glazing bar casements. The doors include mullioned panels and are adorned with moulded hoods. A plaque on the center gable displays the Lytton family arms.
