Description

A pair of picturesque lodges dating to around 1890, situated on Knebworth Park Lane. The lodges are built with roughcast render and timber framing, featuring plain tile roofs and tall ornamental chimney stacks made of cut brick. They have canted plans with two Jacobean-style gabled wooden porches facing each other, and cut gables. The rear has splayed winds with timbered eaves dormers, and the rear gables are also timberframed. Twin casement windows are present. A low dwarf brick wall curves around the front of the lodges, and there are four brick gate piers, two of which retain ball finials. The lodges are included in the listing for their group value in relation to Knebworth House.
