Description
The stable block at Newsells Park, dating from the late 18th century, was likely built for G. Jennings. Constructed from red brick, it features a hipped tiled roof and consists of nine bays, with one storey and an attic. The central section has three segmental arches, with the middle arch leading to a passage, flanked by doors to carriage entrances. Above this is a pediment adorned with dentilled brick sides and reeded panels, along with a clock. A central timber cupola is present, featuring pilastered arcading, a cornice with an ogee head, a ball finial, and a weathervane.
In the outer bays, the left side has a central entrance with a fanlight, flanked by glazing bar sash windows set in shallow reveals with gauged brick flat arched heads. The right side has three stable doors with a central round head, along with two light box dormers and a ridge stack. The rear of the building has three separate hips over projecting coach houses in the centre, with two light casements flanking the central passage, all featuring segmental heads. There are outshut additions to the outer bays and a box dormer on the left side. Attached to the rear right is a separate range extending at right angles, which is also one storey high and includes stable doors, lattice light casements, a plat band on the outer elevation, dentilled brick eaves, and a hipped roof. Newsells Park House itself is not listed.
