Description
North Lodge is a former dairy and laundry associated with Newsells Park, dating from the late 18th century and likely built for G. Jennings. The building is constructed of red brick and features a hipped slate roof. It has a layout of 5 by 4 bays and consists of one storey with an attic. The central bay projects and includes an entrance with a panelled door topped by a semi-circular fanlight, all set within a gauged brick, round-headed surround that has impost bands and a plat band leading to a continuous parapet with a central pedimental head. The building has a plinth and outer recessed sash windows with thick glazing bars, all featuring gauged brick flat arched heads. There are three box dormers, a rebuilt ridge stack on the left return, and lean-to additions on the right return and at the rear, which include segmental-headed casements. Additionally, there is a winch for a well at the right end. The interior has not been inspected.
