Description
Gardeners Lodge is a house and barn combined, dating from the 17th century and altered in the mid-19th century. It has a timber frame and is weather boarded, topped with a steep pitched plain tile roof that features a lean-to on the right. The broad gable end facing the road contains the house, which is two storeys high and has two casement windows along with a canted tiled window bay on the right side of the ground floor. There is a painted ornamental bargeboard. The barn at the rear has a gabled cart entrance on the right side. The interior reveals 17th-century construction alongside early 19th-century brick and timber frame walling of the house, and it is also noted for its tall 19th-century red brick chimney stacks.
