Description

This is a tombstone and slab located in the churchyard of St Mary and St Thomas, dedicated to Anthony James, Viscount Knebworth. It was designed in 1933 by Sir Edwin Lutyens and is made of Portland stone. The headstone features a stepped and tapering profile with a vertical opening that displays a carved female figure holding an eagle. Attached to the headstone is a horizontal slab, which has a cross carved with a sword on top.
