Description

This tombstone, located in the corner of the New Cemetery, was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1924. It is made of Portland stone and features a slightly tapering tabernacle frame with a moulded segmental head. The sides and base are stepped. The north side has shallow niches that contain well-crafted relief carvings of the Virgin and Child. Additionally, there is an inscribed dado and a wreath motif on the rear.
