Description
Alder Cottage is a mid-19th century house with a timber frame and plastered walls, topped by a low-pitched slate roof. It stands two storeys tall and features three 6/6-pane sash windows on each floor. On the left side of the front, there is a six-panel door set in a panelled reveal. The door and windows are adorned with distinctive Egyptian style architraves, each designed as a thin panel featuring patterns such as stars, crosses, lyres, and other motifs on the angle paterae, along with scroll-shaped acroteria. Between the two rightmost first-floor windows, there is a plaster panel depicting a relief figure of a horse. The cottage is included for its group value.
