Description

This is a pair of cottages located on the north-east side of High Street in Codicot. They were originally built in the 17th century with a timber frame, and were re-cased in chequered red brick during the mid-18th century. The roof is covered in plain tiles. The cottages are two storeys high and have three ridge chimney stacks, with the right-hand stack featuring a parapeted gable. There are three windows visible. The first-floor windows are glazing bar casements with wooden lintels set into the dentilled brick eaves. The right-hand door and sash window are topped with segmental arches. Number 47 has two 20th-century canted bay windows and an earlier brick and timber-frame rear extension, likely dating to the 17th or 18th century.
