Description
The Pond House is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with a large rear extension added in the late 19th century. The front block is constructed of chequered red brick and features a plain tile roof. It has two storeys and attics, with coped parapeted gable ends and internal chimney stacks. The front elevation includes three 8/8-pane sash windows with louvred shutters and gauged brick heads, along with a moulded brick floor band. The central entrance door has six fielded panels, triglyph consoles, and a flat cornice hood. There are two hipped dormers on the roof. The left extension, built at the same time as the main block, has a single window with narrower sashes. The rear extension is made of plain red brick and features segmental-headed sash windows and oversailing eaves. Notably, the house served as a Red Cross Hospital during World War I.
