Description
No 20 on High Street is an early 19th-century building with a stucco exterior and an old tiled roof that is hidden behind a parapet and cornice. It has two storeys, featuring a rusticated ground floor and a first floor with a band and three sash windows, including one triple light, all of which have glazing bars. There is a 19th-century shop bay window that has been altered, along with a segmentally arched shop window on the left side. This building is part of a group that includes several other council buildings on High Street, specifically Nos 6, 6A, 8, 10, 10A, 12, 14, 14A, 14B, 14C, 16, 20, 24, 24A, 26, and 32 to 42 (even), as well as the Gateway and Wall in front of Wynne's Almhouses, and Nos 46, 46A, and 48 to 52 (even).
