Description
Moonshine Stile End is a former house that has been extended and is now divided into two dwellings. It dates from the mid to late 17th century, with an extension added in the 18th century. The building features a timber frame that is fully rendered and has a thatched roof. Originally, it consisted of three bays and two cells, with a two-bay addition to the left.
The structure is two storeys high. No. 3, located on the right, has an entrance to the left of the centre, featuring a recessed door. The ground floor has two-light flush frame small pane casements, while the first floor has similar but smaller windows. There are end stacks, with the right stack remaining external and showing offsets; it has been partly rebuilt and the upper part is cement rendered, exposing the purlins in the gable end.
No. 4, on the left, is a slightly lower two-bay addition. It has an entrance in a later brick porch to the right, with ground floor three-light flush frame small pane casements and first floor two-light casements. The roof is hipped at the left end, featuring an end stack in the hip. There is a catslide roof over a lean-to addition at the far left, which has a plank and muntin door at the front. Single-light casements are present on the left return, and the rear includes one, two, and three-light casements, along with a later lean-to addition at the back of No. 3.
