Description
Codicote Bottom Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with extensions added to the front and rear around 1850. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has a double pile layout. The front facade has three windows, separated by shallow pilasters, with the outer windows set within gable ends and the centre featuring a gabled porch. The eaves cornices are angled brick, and the windows have gauged brick heads above the flanking bar casements, while the porch has an elliptical arch. The original door is adorned with echinus moulded panels. The rear block retains 17th-century brickwork, with some flint incorporated into the plinth. There is a large external chimney stack with three rebuilt diagonal shafts. On the side closest to the farmyard, there is a long mid-19th-century extension that includes service areas and a barn. At the junction of the old and new sections, there is a large ridge chimney stack, which is likely from the 17th century.
