Description
The Chequers is a cottage dating from the early 18th century, with an extension added around 1980. It is built of chequered red brick and has a plain tile roof. The original part of the building is one storey with attics and features three segmental-headed ground floor windows, which have mid-19th century three-light casements in early oak frames. There is a door in the style of the 18th century, set in a chamfered oak surround. The cottage also has three 20th century gabled dormers. The extension includes two similar dormers above a garage, alongside an 18th century stack at the junction, and another stack at the right gable end. A roughcast rear extension is likely from the 18th century as well.
