Description

Shepherds Cottage is a house located at right angles to the road, originally built as a pair of cottages in the 17th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill and has a 1981 extension on the northern end, creating a T-shaped plan. The roof is covered with plain tiles and the building stands two storeys high. The gable end displays exposed timber and has an external 17th-century chimney stack, which is enclosed on the ground floor by outshuts from both the 17th and 19th centuries. The eastern elevation has three 19th-century casement windows, and the western elevation features a plastered upper floor. The structure includes three bays of widely spaced studs.
