Description

Bentleys is a house dating from the late 17th century, originally built with a timber frame. In the 19th century, it was cased in red brick, although the 17th or 18th century plinth still remains. The gable end facing the road features a chequered pattern in red brick from the 18th century, while the roughcast gable reveals a clasped purlin roof. The rear elevation combines brick and timber frame with thin scantling. A 17th century ridge chimney stack has two square shafts topped with an ovolo cornice. Inside, the house consists of five bays with stop-chamfered beams and includes an inglenook fireplace.
