Description
Valley Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid 17th century. It is constructed of whitewashed brick and plaster, topped with plain tile roofs. The building stands two storeys high and features three gable ends, with a two-storey addition on the west side that dates to around 1830. The eastern gables are cross wings of the original two-and-a-half bay house. A large chimney stack with four joined square shafts is a prominent feature. There is a former lobby entrance at the front and a staircase attached at the rear. The windows include 19th-century glazing bar casements, some of which have segmental heads. The eastern cross wing has 17th-century small leaded casements on the side and rear elevations, while there is a 19th-century gabled porch at the centre of the west side.
