Description
SANDON GREEN END TL 33 SW (Northwest side) 7/58 Tichney 1.8.74 (formerly listed as Titchney) II House. Early to mid C16, floored, heated and extended in C17, altered and extended C19 and C20. Timber frame, largely exposed, rendered infill. Thatched roof. 2 bay open hall, now 1 storey and attic, with 2 storey cross wing. Gabled entrance porch added where hall meets wing. C20 flush frame casements, some leaded lights, a gabled dormer and a 2 light first floor window in hall. Exposed panel framing. An extension to left of wing with later framing of smaller scantling. Further additions to left rendered. Hip to cross wing front, taller ridge than on hall. Stack to left of cross wing, originally external, rebuilt. Stack to right bay of hall behind ridge. To rear cross wing is jettied with curved brackets, curved passing tension braces on both floors. At left end of hall a pointed arched headed door.
