Description

The Potato Barn is a late 17th century or 18th century aisled barn located at Sandon Bury. It features a timber frame built on a partially rendered brick base and is weatherboarded with a corrugated sheet roof. The barn consists of seven bays with aisles that continue at both ends. On the elevation facing away from the yard, there are double doors located in the third bay from the road. The elevation towards the yard also has double doors, which are found in the second bay from the far end. The hipped ends of the barn are adorned with gablets.

Inside, the barn has jowled arcade posts with braces, some of which have been renewed, supporting the arcade plates and tie beams. Angled struts clasp the purlins.
