Description
Lakewood is a house that was originally three dwellings and is now used for storage and offices for a shop. It dates from the 17th century or earlier, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building has a timber frame that is rendered and features a tiled roof. It has a three-bay lobby entry and is one storey high with an attic.
There is a recessed door located between the left and central bays, with a two-light window to the left and two three-light timber casements to the right, all set in chamfered reveals. Above the central bay, there is a small blocked opening. The roof has three two-light gabled dormers, and there is an axial stack positioned in front of the ridge behind the entrance. The right end of the building is partially weatherboarded and has a 19th-century external stack, along with exposed plates and purlins. A lean-to outshut is present on the left end, and the rear features one and two-light casements, a blocked entrance, and three two-light gabled dormers.
