Description
Ashwell End House is a house dating from the mid-16th century, with some 18th-century external features. It has a timber frame and recent pargetted plaster, topped by a steep pitched plain tile roof. The house is designed in an L shape and has two storeys. The front features three 18th-century leaded casements with two, four, and two lights, along with a panelled door on the right. There is a rebuilt ridge stack and a one-bay 16th-century wing at the rear right, as well as an 18th-century hipped rear stair turret. Inside, the house has three heavily framed bays, with beams that have wide chamfers and swept stops. There is a clunch inglenook and a cellar beneath the wing. The southeast elevation also has three 18th-century leaded casements.
