Description
The Old Coach House is a late 17th-century house, originally stables or a barn serving Salisbury Hall. It is located in Shenley, near Salisbury Hall in London Colney. The building is constructed of red brick with a pattern of burnt headers, and has a hipped tiled roof. The two-storey structure has a seven-bay front, with the central bay slightly projecting and featuring a 20th-century doorcase with a bracketed hood. The windows are 20th-century casements set within segmental brick arches. A plat band sits below a coved plaster cornice. Four flat-topped dormers are visible in the roof. A large external brick stack is located on the right side of the building. A long outbuilding, constructed of weatherboards and brick, extends to the rear left. The building is included on the list for its group value with Salisbury Hall.
