Description
The White House is a house dating from the early 19th century and has been extended. It is constructed from stuccoed brick and features a slate hipped roof. The building has a double pile plan and stands two storeys high with a three-window Regency front. The central entrance includes a panelled door with a rectangular fanlight above. The doorcase is adorned with pilasters and a moulded hood. The windows are glazing bar sashes with moulded architraves, and the ground floor displays banded rustication. There is a plat band at the first floor sill level and a Doric cornice below the parapet. The roof is a double span, and there are end stacks. To the left, there is a one-storey flat-roofed extension that is also rusticated, while the extension to the right is set back and made of painted brick. This extension has scattered windows, including some sash and some casement. The entrance to this extension is located at the angle with the main range. There is a 20th-century garage to the far right. Inside, there is a central staircase located at the rear.
