Description
Grassfield is a house built in the mid-18th century, with extensions from the early to mid-19th century and further alterations in the 20th century. The building is constructed of brick and has a stucco finish, topped with a slate roof. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring a two-window front. The central entrance is framed by a later pedimented doorcase supported by fluted pilasters. The windows are glazing bar sashes set in shallow reveals. The house has a plinth and a plat band below a coped parapet, with a flat-topped gambrel roof and gable end parapets. The right side of the building includes one attic window, while there is a 20th-century dormer to the left of the centre. To the left, there is a two-storey extension from the 19th century, made of whitewashed brick and slightly set forward from the original structure, also featuring glazing bar sashes and a hipped roof. The rear of the building has been extended, but the interior has not been inspected.
