Description

This is a house, originally built in the late 16th or early 17th century, and now divided into two dwellings. It was extended and given a new facade in the late 18th century. The house is timber-framed with a stuccoed brick front, and has a steeply pitched roof covered in old tiles. It is two storeys high, with four bays.

The ground floor has two entrances to the left of centre, each with a curved head. There are three sash windows on the ground floor: a six-pane window to the left, a horizontally sliding eight-pane window to the right, and a twelve-pane window on the far right, now incorporated into the adjacent building at number 12. The first floor features four two-light casement windows set within reveals. A plinth runs along the base of the building. An axial stack has been rebuilt on the right side, and a large stack is located at the rear right.

The rear of the house includes two 18th-century gabled wings; the wing on the left has a half-hip and a chimney stack. The interior of the house has not been inspected. The house was constructed as an infill building between earlier houses at numbers 4 and 6, and 12 to 16.
