Description
Keepers Cottage, located 250 meters to the south-southwest of Dower House, is a house that dates from the early 19th century or possibly earlier, with renovations made in 1913, as indicated by a heraldic date panel above the door. The building is roughcast, likely built on a timber frame, with the upper part featuring red tile hanging and decorative panels of scalloped tiles. The roofs are banded with scallop tiles.
This T-plan house has two storeys and faces south, with a central rear wing. It features very tall octagonal shafts for its red brick chimneys, with two chimneys on each end and three on the rear wing. The symmetrical south front has two windows on each floor and a central door, complemented by small gables over the upper windows. The windows are three-light flush casements with Gothick cast iron casements. The central panelled door has two bullion lights and a heavy doorcase with carved trusses supporting a small flat hood. Overall, it presents as a picturesque estate house.
