Description
The Vineries is a house that likely dates back to the 16th century, with alterations made in the later 17th century. The exterior is finished in stucco and has been re-windowed in the 19th century, topped with an old tile roof. The structure consists of three timber frame bays and features a red brick stack located between the center and northwest bay. It is two storeys tall, with the southwest elevation displaying three windows that are 3-light, 6-pane casements. The door beneath the stack is framed by re-used, chamfered and stopped floor beams that serve as jambs. The northwest gable end includes a leaded 3-light casement window from the 17th or 18th century. At the rear, there is a lean-to extension made of timber frame, consisting of two bays, likely from the later 17th century, which has 1- and 3-light leaded casements. Inside, there is a 16th-century floor beam with roll moulding on the soffit and cavetto sides.
