Description
Rosemary Cottage is a house that has been divided into two homes. It dates from the 17th century, with a floor added in the early 18th century. The structure features a timber frame on a stucco plinth, with roughcast and weatherboarding at the rear and ends. It has a steep thatched roof and two yellow brick chimneys. The house is one and a half storeys tall and follows a three-cell, central chimney plan, set back from the road and facing south. The central chimney is located a third of the way from the west, and there is an external gable chimney at the east, both made of yellow brick. There are two gabled thatched dormers at the eaves, each with two-light casement windows. A gabled porch leads to a plank door into the middle room, flanked by two windows on each side, and there is a smaller gabled porch for a door near the west corner. Inside, the cottage features exposed square oak joists and a chamfered and stopped cross-beam in the middle room.
